Itinerario Arabo-Normanno

During the 17th century, in Sicily there were lots of representation of the Baroque architectural style. Nowadays we can still find valuable inlays, plasters and decorations on churches and buildings.

Chiesa di Santa Cita

  • The small church, built in the 14th century, was demolished and rebuilt during the 15th century. Afterwards, the architect presented a new project of the Church , because he considered the first one inadequate.

San Giuseppe dei Teatini

  • The church was built at the beginning of the 17th century by the Theatine architect Giacomo Besio, born in Genoa. It is located near the Quattro Canti and is considered one of the examples of the Sicilian Baroque in Palermo.

Sant'Igniazio all'Olivella

  • The church was designed by Antonio Muttone and inaugurated in 1622 on the occasion of the canonization of St. Filippo Neri. The facade was completed between 1655 and 1690.

Oratorio di Santa Cita
